Team Superchips Wins National Title and Runner Up

09/15/2016

Team Superchips Pro Mod driver, Jake Hallenbeck, came from behind to win the WE Rock Grand Nationals in Farmington last weekend. In the Unlimited class. Jesse Haines lost another tight battle with rock crawling legend, Tracy Jordan, and finished 2nd in the 13-car field.

After a mechanical issue shut his car down on his last course of day 1, Hallenbeck lost the solid lead he had over the pro mod class. He went into day 2 with a 13-point deficit to overcome. Hallenbeck chipped away at the lead with each run but going into the last course still trailed by 12. On the final course, Hallenbeck dominated the course and finished with an 8-point win!

In the Unlimited class, Jesse Haines finished day 1 only 3 points out of the lead. Day 2 started out with 2 great runs that kept the pressure on the first-place team. On the 3rd course, Haines took a risky bonus that would have moved him into the lead. Unfortunately, the gamble didn’t pay off and resulted in a rollover. Although it took him out of contention for the win, Haines was still able to hold onto 2nd place.

See both Superchips cars in action again at Supercrawl, September 24-25 in Reno, NV.
