Team Superchips driver, Jesse Haines, debuted his groundbreaking new unlimited class rock crawler this past weekend at the WE Rock competition in Congress, AZ. The new car, named Prickle, was built in less than two months and showed up to the Western Series opener with virtually no test time. Unfortunately, Prickle fought a handful of engine-related issues throughout the event. Haines and spotter, Mike Berard did their best with what they had to work with but finished the weekend 9th in the 14-team unlimited class.

In addition to driving his new car, Haines put veteran rock crawler, Jake Hallenbeck, in the driver seat of his other car, Pokey. Hallenbeck was also competing in the unlimited class this past weekend. He too suffered mechanical issues that ended his weekend early, leaving him in 11th place.

Haines will be back in competitive action again next month, April 15th-17th, at the Australian Tuff Truck Challenge. After a 4th place finish there last year, Haines is hoping to become the first American to win Australia’s premier rock crawling event.
