Finally, the performance flash tuning you’ve been begging for! Superchips Flashpaq (P/N 3876-JL) now supports 2018-2020 2.0L Jeep Wrangler JL. The 2.0L turbocharged engine has been a great new option for Wrangler JL owners, offering good fuel mileage and great torque. But aftermarket support for the platform has been limited, until now! Through extensive development, our team of engineers have worked tirelessly to not only break the PCM coding but to offer even better performance, mileage, and drivability from an already great platform. Not wanting to simply increase boost output, our engineers worked at making multiple changes within the tuning to not only increase peak power and torque, but improve the overall curves, so you get that power and torque sooner. By making changes to the transmission shift strategies, boost curve, timing, and fueling maps the all new Flashpaq tuning will offer better low end power and torque with max gains of 65hp/90ft-lbs torque at 3000 RPM’s. The broader power curves allow for better turbo spool-up, increased mid-range for accelerating in traffic, and the torque you need to keep a bigger set of tires rolling.
Of course, like all our Flashpaq devices, performance tuning isn’t the only advantage here. User’s also have the ability to:

After fourteen years Ford bronco returns and it’s everything we’d ever hoped for! Ford came out swinging and is undoubtedly looking to steal some market share from Jeep® Wrangler®. Question is, have they done enough with this 2021 Bronco to make it happen? Ford’s development team has obviously done their homework and listened to the market in staying true to their original 60’s Bronco roots in styling and with the strength in their EcoBoost engine program, this one should be a winner. Ford’s offering seven different trim packages in either 2-door or 4-door with base prices starting at $28,500 and peaking out at $63,500. With hundreds of combinations they’re bound to be able to build something for just about everyone with a need to see the outdoors in their SUV.
The most exciting part of the 2021 Bronco for us here at Superchips are the available powertrains. With the 2.3L 4-cylinder Ecoboost from Ford Ranger and an optional 2.7L V6 Ecoboost from F-150, we could see some great potential to boost horsepower with our Flashpaq and TrailDash tuning systems here. We currently offer tuning for the 2.7L Ecoboost F-150 and it is a very potent little engine in that platform, should be even more fun in a sporty little Ford Bronco. There are two transmission options depending on which engine you go with, Fords latest 10-speed automatic with Trail Control and an all new 7-speed manual for your clutch lovers. Interestingly enough, if you opt for the manual, a dedicated ‘Crawler’ gear was figured in to the equation which should make for a great rock crawler.
Like the Jeep® Wrangler® it’s trying to defeat for market share, the 2021 Bronco offers some incredibly cool off-road features.

Ford’s press site states that 2021 Bronco orders can start being placed right away, but that delivery to dealerships won’t be happening until Spring/Summer of 2021. So while we’re all super excited to see this new Ford Bronco it will still be a while before anyone will get behind the seat of one. Rest assured though, the Superchips team has already narrowed down the choices and picked out the model that will be perfect for our team to get started on product development so we can start offering aftermarket support as soon as possible.
Well boys and girls here it is, the big reveal on our freshly wrapped 2020 Jeep® Wrangler® JL. After much discussion within our team and listening to input from you guys, we’ve decided to go big and bold on this 2.0L Jeep, a throwback to the 70’s with a little vintage Hot Wheels twist. That bright and attention grabbing Bikini Pearl was just begging for some more flash and we Buzz Graphics nailed it on this one. Couple sweeping stripes, some matte black for contrast and even some graphics added to the hood puts this Jeep® front and center to hopefully grab everyone’s attention in our upcoming ad and video campaigns.
Now that it has it’s SC branding its time to really start installing some parts and get this Jeep® Wrangler® JL ready for the rocks and muddy trails. With a matching set of Trail Series 2 bumpers from Expedition One, we’ll be able to install our ComeUp winch and carry a our full size 37″ Fury R/T tire for a spare. Of course, first and foremost we’ll need to get our Terrain Flex 3.5″ lift kit from Readylift installed to clear those massive meats. Superchips tuning support for this 2.0L turbo engine is right around the corner, but until then we’ll be sure to put our Flashcal to good use to keep our speedometer reading correctly with the bigger 37″ tires mounted up. We also have our Amp’d Throttle Booster ready to plug in to improve the overall drivability, bringing tha powerband in a little sooner when we roll into the throttle. Obviously, before our calibrations team can really dig into a new platform, we have to know what we’re starting with. With that in mind, we needed to get the 2020 Jeep® Wrangler® JL on our Superflow chassis dyno to see just how much that little 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo can produce. With the baselines recorded we can move on to the lift, tires, bumpers, winch and SC branded wrap for this Wrangler® JL. It’s got to be dressed to impress when our marketing and event campaigns kick off, but first we want to talk horsepower.
On the Superflow chassis dyno in our Ogden, UT facility, the completely stock 2.0L Wrangler® JL made 231hp and 310ft-lbs of torque. Jeep® rates this 2.0L engine at 270hp/290tq flywheel. Taking a 15% drive train loss into consideration (229.5hp), our 231 wheel horsepower seems pretty accurate. 310lft-lbs of torque is quite surprising however. Jeep® is either very conservative on their 290tq claim or that quick spooling turbocharger just runs really strong here. We expected to see closer to 245ft-lbs at the tire from this power plant, so 310ft-lbs is great!
Paired with the 8-speed automatic and the factory Rubicon 4.10 gears, this combination is actually quite sporty around town. There is some slight lag off idle, but that can be taken care of easily with the addition of our Amp’d Throttle Booster (p/n 48868-JT). While the Amp’d doesn’t add any power to the 2.0L turbo engine, it definitely brings that power band on sooner making it feel even more peppy for day to day driving. For an interesting comparison, we dyno’d our 2019 Wrangler® JL with the 3.6L V6, and it produced 204hp/220tq in stock form. So those of you concerned about performance from a ‘little 4-cylinder’, you may need to take a second look at Jeep’s® 2.0L engine. With our up and coming tuning support for the 2.0L Turbo, is that naturally aspirated V6 going to become a thing of the past? We don’t think so, but the 4-cylinder will be holding it’s own in the market for sure.
This week, our graphics team has been working on some renderings of our 2020 Jeep® Wrangler® JL project. With our plans of releasing tuning support for the 2.0L turbocharger applications soon, we needed a vehicle ready to make a big splash on launch. This JL needs something that’ll pop and take the Bikini Blue paint scheme up a notch. As the new marketing campaign vehicle for Superchips, we want to make the right statement and stand out in a crowd. This Wrangler® JL Rubicon is going to be used in our advertisements, YouTube videos and taken around the country to different shows and events (assuming COVID-19 restrictions allow) and the factory look just won’t do.
The general opinion around the office here is that we should go Retro. Get back into the 70’s with a Scrambler look, maybe some old school side stripes. The paint color on this JL Wrangler® already draws attention in traffic, so how to make it better? Since that hard top is being swapped out for a black Bestop Trektop, maybe some blacks and grays will tie it all together nicely? But then we question playing along with the metallic in the paint and go totally ‘bass boat’ on the graphics scheme with even more bright colors. We’ve got the 3.5″ Readylift suspension kit and some massive 37″ Fury tires on 20″ Anthem Off-Road wheels, so big and bold will be the theme here. We have a few options drawn up but narrowing it down has been tough. The marketing team knows which way they’d go, but we aren’t just building this Jeep® for us. What do you guys think?
