Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Happy I bought my TrailCal thinking this is going to be great. For the most part it is awesome. My problem comes in that every time i change ANYTHING in the settings it makes my automatic transmission not shift above third gear. The only fix is to reset to factory. that is where my problem comes in. My jeep is a 2017 automatic Rubicon. It has 410 gears not 373. So the default is 28 inch ties and 373 gears. Now i have a inaccurate speedometer. I emailed tech support on Jan 3 but as of today I have not received a reply. I guess I am out of luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up/ Works as advertised! I bought this unit a while back so I could monitor some of the Jeep systems that do not have dash gauges. It also allowed me to add a back-up camera w/o purchasing a new radio head unit as I only have the base model 130 radio. Connecting the unit was simple... all plug and play. It took me a bit to figure out the configuration that worked best for the back-up camera, but setting the camera to turn on when the unit turns on works well and I do not have to wait for the unit to boot up before backing out of my garage. 2 gripes...1st the unit does take a bit to boot up... The back-up camera can be set to come on at start-up,but only if the camera is powered prior to the boot-up process. My camera is hardwired to a switch, not the back-up lights, so I can turn it on before the unit starts to boot. 2nd, the fuel level gauge NEVER reads above 95% full... even if the tank is topped off up to the top of the filler neck. Not sure on that one. Otherwise the unit works well. BTW, Superchips is the sister company to Edge products. Therefore the CTS2 and the Trailcal share the same case... mounting options just opened up... I used the Edge CTS2 gauge cluster mount so I could mount my Trailcal to my A-pillar. Works and looks great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well though out Very happy with the TrailCal. It is well thought out. The reason I didnt give it 5 stars is I bought during a promotion for a free EAS Power Switch, which I had assumed would come with the unit. I saw no info to the contrary. Turns out you have to submit paperwork and wait “6 to 8 weeks”. I submitted by email 3 times to 3 parts of the organizatio b’cause no one seems to know who it should go to and once by snail mail with no confirmation of receipt. I am dubious that I should ever see the Power Switch.

Does the "Sway" button (when used on a Rubicon) actually connect/disconnect the swaybar or just disable the light on the dash ?

    Asked by: Hamburger
On the JK the sway bar option will turn the light off if you have a manual disconnect sway bar. On theJL it will disconnect the sway bar

If I change the oil pressure sensor on my Jeep to one for a gauge instead of the one for the warning light, will it allow me to have an Oil Pressure PID? If you have an oil pressure sending unit for a gauge can I then have an Oil Pressure PID?

    Asked by: J Marlow
I wanted to answer my own question based on additional research. If your Jeep does not have oil pressure displayed in the dash, then you do not have the correct oil pressure sending unit. There are 2 different sending units, one if you have a gauge and a different type if you have only the warning light. To add an oil pressure PID/Gauge you need part numbers: 98602 (starter cable), 98605 (Universal Sensor Input), and 98607 (Pressure Sensor). You will have to either dismantle your upper and lower intake, install a T-fitting in the existing port, and install the second Oil Pressure Sensor (this is a major job), or you can also use this part (https://www.moparessentialtools.com/item-detail.aspx?itemid=24600008&type=tools) for 2015 and up Jeeps (there is a different but similar part for earlier JK's) and install the Oil Pressure Sensor on top of the oil filter cap, which is much, much, easier than disassembling your upper and lower intake.

Once installed and turned on for the first time, the unit will scan the vehicle for existing parameter, my question is, the shown axil ratio, is this the existing on the vehicle or just a preset ratio that need to be changed based on true & known ratio?

    Asked by: Fouad
What you see is just the starting point for you to make the adjustment. This is only for if you physicaly changed the ring and pinion gears in the rear end. If the gears are stock you do not have to make any adjustment here
