Team Superchips Takes 2nd in Unlimited, 1st in Pro Mod at WE Rock

Last weekend, the top pro rock crawlers west of the Mississippi met in Norden, CA for round 3 of the WE Rock western series. With one of the biggest pro fields in many years, WE Rock turned up the heat and set some brutal courses to put teams to the test.

Coming off a big win at the last event, Jesse Haines was hoping to make this 2 in a row. That looked like a good possibility until the end of the last course of day 1. A pinched wire shorted out the electrical system on Haines's car and caused a very costly DNF. The team battled back on day 2 and nearly pulled off a huge comeback. It came down to the last run of the shootout, but Haines would have to settle for 2nd place this time.

After a 10-year absence from the sport, Jake Hallenbeck returned to drive the Team Superchips pro mod owned by Jesse Haines. In his first time competing in a pro mod class, Hallenbeck won in a landslide. Many of his competitors fell to mechanical issues and rollovers, but Hallenbeck led from start to finish to take the win.
